愛丁堡大學 (University of Edinburgh) 創建於1583年，擁有逾四世紀的悠久創校歷史，位列英國第六古老的大學，以具備豐富的教育歷史、擁有卓越的研究學者、培訓知名的傑出校友而聞名，譽為領先全球的知名教育機構。大學自創校起便積極拓展學術規模，於十八世紀陸續設立法學院、藝術學院、醫學院，更於2011年合併當地知名的愛丁堡藝術學院 (Edinburgh College of Art)，廣泛增設藝術、設計、建築、景觀等相關學系課程；同時與愛丁堡納皮爾大學合作成立蘇格蘭影視學院 (Screen Academy Scotland)，為一所專職於提供影視學系的優質教育機構。

愛丁堡大學位於蘇格蘭首府-愛丁堡，總共擁有五座主要校區、以及兩座教學中心:
• 中央校區 (Central Campus): 座落於城市南區，為大學最具規模且歷史最悠久的校區，教學中心主要匯集於喬治廣場，並為眾多學院的所在地，包含: 人文與社會科學學院、醫學院、法學院、藝術學院。
• 國王校區 (King’s Buildings Campus): 座落於城市南區，為大學的第二主校區，同時為科學與工程學院、蘇格蘭農學院、英國地質研究學系的所在地。

環境介紹
愛丁堡 (Edinburgh) 位於蘇格蘭 (Scotland) 中部的福斯灣南岸 (Firth of Forth)，為蘇格蘭的首府、以及僅次於格拉斯哥 (Glasgow) 的第二具規模城市，以優美的風景、天然的地理優勢、豐富的文化遺產，而譽為全球最美麗的城市之一，同時為英國著名的文化古城之一。愛丁堡為倫敦區外最具規模的金融重鎮，城市的金融業、旅遊業、教育業皆十分興盛。愛丁堡建有蘇格蘭最便捷的國際機場-愛丁堡機場 (Edinburgh Airport)，並設有接駁的輕軌電車，往返於機場與市中心；而位於市區的愛丁堡威瓦利火車站 (Edinburgh Waverley) 則為城市的主要火車站，乘坐約四小時車程即可直達英國首都-倫敦。

學校設施
愛丁堡大學的圖書館譽為蘇格蘭之最，擁有逾三百萬冊藏書，包含: 教材、論文、電子期刊、學術文獻、政府出刊物、影音資訊、藝術範本等。館內所設置的分類整理系統十分完善，學生可使用索引系統輕易查詢所需的學術資訊、文獻與論文等，同時可查閱瀏覽其他有合作的圖書館的電子資料。大學圖書館的名聲僅次於愛丁堡皇家圖書館與愛丁堡市立圖書館。大學的電腦資訊中心擁有歐洲區最新穎的軟體設備，每位學生入學時會被授予註冊校內電子信箱，學生可自由使用郵件系統、網路、以及資訊中心。
愛丁堡大學的學生會是英國最具規模的學生會之一，擁有近兩百個學生社團，提供全面性的協助服務、並於各學院中為學生的權益發聲，同時定期舉辦各項社交活動。學校擁有逾五十個運動社團、以及數座設備完善的體育中心，完善的運動設備曾獲得五星級的肯定，相關設施包含: 室內游泳池、各式球場 (籃球、網球、壁球等)、步槍射擊中心、箭術練習場地、蘇格蘭高地的廣大操場。同時提供專業的運動指導，並為學生做體能評估、運動傷害治療等服務。城市內設有優質的人工草地、以及高爾夫球訓練中心；鄰近的戶外運動中心亦開設獨木舟、帆船、登山、滑雪等熱門活動。
住宿相關
愛丁堡大學提供多元的住宿選擇，國際學生僅需於每年七月前提出宿舍申請，學校便保障第一年的入住資格；學校宿舍申請於每年二月開始受理，並於每年六月開始公佈宿舍安排結果。學校宿舍包含所有開銷: 水電費、個人物品保險費、清潔費。每棟宿舍區皆設置交誼中心、共用廚房、自助洗衣設備，同時由專人管理，並設置舍監協助學生處理生活事宜，以確保學生擁有一處安全舒適的住宿環境。此外，學校同時提供適合攜帶家眷的學生入住的公寓式宿舍區，並與當地校外住宿機構合作，提供校外住宿的諮詢服務。
適合國際學生的宿舍選擇:
• Ascham Court: 位於市中心的獲獎建築設計宿舍區，提供單人雅房、共用衛浴、共用廚房。
• Buccleuch Place/Buccleuch Place Lane: 前者為新翻修的喬治式建築公寓；後者為新建的現代宿舍區。提供136間單人套房、單人雅房、加大雙人雅房、共用衛浴、共用廚房、交誼中心、優美花園景致。
• Deaconess: 位於市中心，由醫院改建的宿舍區，圍繞著中央庭園。提供280間單人套房、35間獨立單人套房、共用廚房、交誼中心。
• Kitchener House: 為一棟傳統的居家建築，前庭設有優美的小花園。提供47間加大單人雅房、6間加大雙人雅房、共用衛浴、共用廚房、交誼中心。
• Mylnes Court: 由三棟傳統建築所組成的宿舍區，為一座具有知名歷史的建築物，鄰近愛丁堡古堡，俯視王子街。提供176間單人雅房、加大單人雅房、共用衛浴、共用廚房。
• New Park: 新建的現代宿舍區，提供160間單人雅房、共用衛浴、共用廚房。
• O'Shea North: 由六棟宿舍大樓所組成的新穎宿舍區。其中兩棟安排給碩士生居住，提供800間單人套房、41間公寓式套房、13間雙人雅房、共用衛浴、共用廚房、交誼中心、影音室、音樂室。
• O'Shea South: 為一棟典雅的古式建築。提供249間單人雅房，共用衛浴、共用廚房、交誼中心。
