學校簡介
約克大學 (University of York) 成立於1963年，創校宗旨在於提供學生受益的學習經驗、提供卓越的教學品質、以及成為全球研究的先驅之一。創建初起僅有230位學生，提供六項學術領域學系，伴隨著學術聲譽的提升與優質師資的招聘，約克大學經過半世紀的發展至今，已開設逾三十所部門，提供多元領域的學系選擇，致力於創新的研究成果，並六次獲頒女王週年獎的殊榮。
約克大學為英國大學知名的羅素集團 (Russell Group) 成員之一，並與同樣位於約克郡的兩所研究型大學: 里茲大學 (University of Leeds) 與雪菲爾大學 (University of Sheffield) 共組白玫瑰大學聯盟 (White Rose University Consortium)，結合各大學的資源致力於高科技的研發工作，以利於研究發展與成果共享，其研究經費的規模堪比牛津大學與劍橋大學。約克大學卓越的研究評價，歷年高居英國大學綜合排名的前列。
約克大學的校區座落於市郊，以優質的自然環境而聞名，數棟教學大樓與學校宿舍皆座落於景色宜人的廣大草坪上，四周圍著清幽的湖泊，為一處兼具優美與安全的校園。校區結合古蹟建築與現代設計風格，由當地眾多的地標建築、以及知名雕刻家與藝術家的作品所建成；其中最為知名的建築為二級古蹟建築-赫斯林頓廳 (Heslington Hall)、以及位於市中心的一級古蹟建築-國王莊園 (The King's Manor)，後者為考古學系與中世紀研究中心的所在地。此外，於校區步行數分鐘即可抵達市中心，鄰近眾多餐廳、咖啡廳、劇院、電影院、生活商店等，擁有相當便捷的生活環境與交通樞紐。

環境介紹
約克 (York) 位於英國中北部的北約克郡 (North Yorkshire)，為英國最具代表性的歷史古城之一，其城市發展可追溯至羅馬帝國時期。早年羅馬人為抵禦外敵而興建防禦城牆與堡壘，並將此地打造為不列顛尼亞的首都，奠定約克成為北英格蘭重要的行政與軍事中心。約克至今仍保存眾多歷史遺跡，隨處可見古老街道與建築，彌漫濃厚的中世紀史詩氛圍，闡述英國懷舊的歷史風貌。城市著名地標包含羅馬時期所建造的城牆、約克古堡與約克大教堂。約克大教堂為歐洲最宏偉的哥德式教堂，北側著名的五姐妹之窗為現存最古老的彩繪玻璃之一，而南側的玫瑰窗則被譽為哥德建築之眼，極具藝術與歷史價值。
約克擁有優越的地理位置，伴隨十九世紀鐵路工業的蓬勃發展，城市迅速成為英國重要的交通樞紐，擁有全國最長的鐵路線道，並成為連接倫敦與蘇格蘭首府愛丁堡的重要轉運站。從約克搭乘火車約兩小時即可抵達倫敦，約一小時可直達鄰近的曼徹斯特國際機場。城市周邊環繞豐富的自然景觀，鄰近三大國家公園保護區，包含約克郡谷地 (Yorkshire Dales)、峰區 (Peak District) 與北約克沼園 (North York Moors)，皆以遼闊草原、丘陵與原始自然風貌聞名，使約克被譽為英國景色最壯麗的城市之一。此外，市區的約克博物館花園亦設有知名植物園區，保育稀有與瀕臨絕種植物，並培育四季盛開的觀賞花卉。

學校設施
約克大學設有完善的學習資源，圖書館擁有豐富的學術資源，包含書籍、期刊、數位資訊等，同時設置逾一千個學習座位，並規劃適合團體討論的閱覽室、以及研究生獨立的學習空間。大學的運動中心建有許多優質的體育設施，包含奧運級別的自行車場，其多元的體育設備可符合學生們的各種需求。此外，大學專為影視戲劇學系建造電影院、劇院、攝影棚、後製工作室等學習空間，並鼓勵學生進行文藝創作。
約克大學的學生會提供近兩百個學生社團，其中最具規模的便是音樂與戲劇社團，該社團的學生每週定期舉辦戲劇演出與音樂會/演唱會。約克學生電視台 (York Student Television) 建於1967年，為英國最古老的學生電台，並數次獲得英國學生電台之最的獎項；此外，約克大學廣播台 (University Radio York) 亦為英國最古老的獨立廣播電台，於當地享有極高的聲譽。
住宿相關
約克大學提供多元的宿舍選擇、以及安全的住宿環境，並安排完善的住宿諮詢服務；專業的宿舍專員將為學生處理宿舍申請程序、安排入住事宜，同時提供校外租屋資訊，協助學生入住合適的住宿環境。國際學生僅需於截止日期前提出學校宿舍申請，大學便保障第一年的入住資格；學校宿舍費用包含: 水電費、暖氣費、網路費、共用空間清潔費等。宿舍房間設備包含: 床、桌椅、衣櫥櫃、收納空間。各宿舍區皆設置: 共用廚房 (含完善的烹飪設備)、用餐區、交誼中心、電腦資訊中心、閱覽室、自助洗衣設備。
適合國際學生選擇的宿舍區:
• Halifax College: 傳統宿舍區，步行約15分鐘可至生活商店、圖書館、運動中心。宿舍提供單人雅房，約5位學生共用一間衛浴、約20位學生共用一間廚房。
• Goodricke College: 新穎宿舍區，步行約20分鐘可至生活商店、圖書館、運動中心。宿舍提供單人獨立套房，房間內包含個人衛浴與廚房。
• Langwith College: 現代宿舍區，步行約20分鐘可至生活商店、圖書館、運動中心。宿舍提供單人獨立套房，房間內包含個人衛浴與廚房。
• Wentworth College: 新穎宿舍區，鄰近生活商店、圖書館、運動中心。宿舍提供單人套房，房間內包含個人衛浴，約6至9位學生共用一間廚房。
課程介紹
約克大學開設三大學院、逾三十所部門，提供多元領域的學系選擇，致力於創新的研究成果；其中自然科學與理工學系的領域於英國享有極高的學術名聲。此外，商管、藝術、醫學等領域亦十分知名。
