學校簡介
倫敦政治經濟學院 (The London School of Economics and Political Science)，簡稱為倫敦政經 (LSE)；學院成立於1895年，四位知名人士所創建: 西德尼．韋伯 (Sidney Webb) 與妻子社會學家-貝特麗絲．韋伯 (Beatrice Webb)、政治家-葛拉漢．威勒斯 (Graham Wallas)、作家-喬治．伯納德．蕭 (George Bernard Shaw)；四位創校者為費邊社 (Fabian Society) 的成員，該社團致力於社會建設，提倡互助互愛的社會服務，使人民享有平等的權利。創校者竭力創辦一所使社會享有更多生活平等權利的教育機構，並於創校初期即對社會與公共政策有著非凡的影響力。
倫敦政經於1990年加入倫敦大學體系 (University of London)，成為大學主要的經濟學院 (University’s Faculty of Economics)，並於兩年後開始正式授予倫敦大學學位證書。爾後學院開始快速發展，增設校區教學大樓、招聘優秀的師資人才，陸續培育出眾多知名的傑出校友，包含: 55位國家政府元首、18位諾貝爾獎得主；以及各領域的專業人士，領域包含: 法學、歷史、人類學、經濟學、哲學、心理學、商學、文學、媒體、政治。學院發展至今，已成為一所領先全球的教育學府與研究機構之一，於政治商經業界享有盛名，對英國的社會科學、政治學、經濟學、法學具備卓越的貢獻與十分重要的影響力。此外，倫敦政經以優質的研究評鑑而聞名國際，學校卓越的研究成果多年位列全球先驅的地位，每年獲得近三千萬英鎊的資金用於專業領域的研究。倫敦政經與牛津大學、劍橋大學、倫敦帝國理工學院、倫敦大學學院並稱為英國G5超級精英大學，學院同時為英國大學知名的羅素集團 (Russell Group) 的成員之一。倫敦政經的畢業學生擁有多元的就業前景，學院極高的就業率位列英國前四名，畢業生於半年內皆可取得理想的工作，尤以金融業、會計業、銀行業等領域最為熱門。
倫敦政治經濟學院位於倫敦市中心-西敏區 (Westminster) 的克萊兒市集街區 (Clare Market)，並由英王喬治五世奠下基石大樓 (Old Building)。學院四周圍繞眾多地標建築、教育機構、博物館、藝廊、餐廳、商店，擁有便捷的生活環境與交通樞紐。學院自國王大道 (Kingsway) 至奧德維奇街 (Aldwych) 的範圍中總共用擁有約三十棟教學大樓、學生劇院、醫學中心等相關建築。此外，學院多年斥資重金於校區與宿舍的擴建與更新，致力於提供學生一處完善的學習環境與生活空間。

環境介紹
倫敦 (London) 位於英格蘭南部，座落於英國最長流域-泰晤士河 (River Thames)，為英國首都，亦為歐洲區最具規模的現代都市之一。城市歷史可追溯至羅馬時期的建立，經歷近兩千年的洗禮，倫敦維持著世界上最重要、具影響力的都市地位，其藝術時尚、政治經濟、商業財務、教育娛樂、傳播媒體、觀光旅遊皆為世界先驅，與法國-巴黎、美國-紐約、日本-東京並列四大國際城市。倫敦擁有世上最具規模的交通樞紐，自維多利亞時期便啟用第一座地鐵、公車營運、鐵路規劃、機場擴建，市中心的核心交通系統 - 地鐵 (Underground) 為世界上最古老的交通建築，載客量居歐洲區第三位。大倫敦區共設有六座主要的國際機場，其中希思羅機場 (Heathrow Airport) 為最繁忙的國際機場，搭乘地鐵約五十分鐘可抵市中心。
倫敦為高等教育和研究中心的匯集地，城市擁有逾四十間大學，吸引眾多學生來此進修學習，較知名的學校包含: 倫敦大學學院、倫敦政治經濟學院、倫敦帝國學院、英國皇家音樂學院等。市區擁有四座世界遺產，包含: 倫敦塔、皇家植物園、西敏寺、格林尼治皇家天文台，其他知名景點: 倫敦眼、倫敦塔橋、白金漢宮、杜莎夫人蠟像館、特拉法加廣場等皆十分熱門，每年吸引大批遊客到此參觀。倫敦市內獨特的建築與時尚藝術元素十分出色，位列四大時尚城市之一，造就出許多知名時尚設計師，同時設有許多時尚藝術學校，擁有比擬法國-巴黎與義大利-米蘭的藝術造詣。藝術知名相關景點，例如: 大英博物館、國家美術館、泰特現代藝術館、聖保羅大教堂皆十分熱門。倫敦設有數十家劇院，最知名的為西區劇院 (West End theatre)，是國際優質的劇院代表，與紐約百老匯劇院齊名，經場演出莎士比亞經典名劇、以及著名作曲家安德魯‧洛伊‧韋伯的巨作。此外，還有十數個知名的芭蕾舞團、五大專業交響樂團，其中倫敦交響樂團 (London Symphony Orchestra) 為國內最古老的樂團之一，經常於世界各地巡迴演奏。
倫敦西區為高級住宅區、以及國際著名的娛樂與購物區，經常舉辦各式節慶活動，例如: 跨年遊行、諾丁漢丘嘉年華會等。最受喜愛的購物區為哈洛德百貨公司、蘇活區、科芬園等，為眾多攤販所組成的市集，為地方特色商店之一。另外知名的皮卡迪利廣場 (Piccadilly Circus)、攝政街 (Regent Street)、牛津街 (Oxford Street) 為當地著名的購物街，設有國際時尚精品、餐廳、夜店、酒吧，其中牛津街長達一英里，為國內最長的購物街。身為運動風行的城市，倫敦最著名的運動為足球，城市設有十數家足球俱樂部、以及眾多知名的足球隊，包含: 切爾西足球隊、水晶宮足球隊、溫布頓足球隊，其他運動，例如: 網球、橄欖球、游泳、板球、馬術亦十分熱門。倫敦同時是全球第一座榮獲三次奧林匹克競賽舉辦場地殊榮的城市。
學校設施
倫敦政治經濟學院擁有完善的學習環境、教學設備、新穎的學術與研究資源，學院的主圖書館為建於1896年的英國政治經濟圖書館 (British Library of Political and Economic Science)，擁有逾四百萬冊藏書、六萬冊電子資源、三萬冊電子期刊，為全球最具規模的社會與政治科學領域圖書館，同時為英國的國家社會科學圖書館，並任命為聯合國與其他國際組織的資料檔案中心。圖書館的獨特螺旋型階梯設計為知名的特色建築，館內提供數百台電腦設備與眾多適合學術討論的研究中心，為教授與學生最喜愛的學習場所之一。

課程介紹
倫敦政治經濟學院提供多元領域的課程選擇，學院的申請競爭十分激烈，錄取資格必須是畢業於頂尖學府且取得優秀的學術成績，尤以學士申請最為嚴格，平均約每十五位申請者僅錄取一位。
